BILINGUAL CHILDREN’S BOOK PROMOTING ZAPATA RELEASED
PRESS RELEASE: Zapata, TX, March 7, 2016 – Del Alma Publications, LLC has published a bilingual children’s book titled, Hello Zapata!
¡Hola! Written by former University of Texas – Pan American Starr County campus director, and lifelong Zapata resident and educator, Dr. Maria Alma Gonzalez Pérez, the children’s book features 29 places of interest in Zapata County, Texas. It offers a brief, but thought provoking reflection of each place along with a corresponding photograph.
Its purpose is to encourage children and young people to take note and take pride in their own communities and learn as much as they can about their history, their people, and their places of interest. Some suggested classroom activities to develop different language skills also complement this work.
