This booklet is intended to be used as a supplementary activity to our bilingual children's book ¡Todos a comer! A Mexican Alphabet Book by Dr. María Alma González Pérez. This alphabet book uses Mexican foods to reinforce alphabet letter recognition, and helps children learn about the ingredients and procedures for preparing many delicious Mexican meals. Each food description is followed by a question to solicit an oral response.
The activities in this booklet are food and meal-centered and engage children by having them plan their favorite meal, complete a food name poem, and research a family recipe. The intent is for students to become more involved in the planning of their meals at home.
The activity is intended to be printed double sided and folded from the middle so as to create a booklet.
